I am a creature of habit.
This is not a bad thing, it's just a thing.
First, I sleep during the day. I do this because I work nights. I sleep during the day even on my time off work, because when I go to work I don't want to spend all night yawning and spending more time fighting sleep just to do my job. In the past I tried to stay up on my days off and be a person with a social life, but especially in 2020 it's super easy to just forego all of that and keep the same schedule. It makes life easier.
Second, my schedule is regular even if other people can't see it. It's on a two week rotation, so that in a two week cycle I always have the same days off. Most of my family can't seem to keep up with it, even though I've told them a hundred times and actually scedule things with them for my days off. So if I tell you that I'm working this weekend, you should be able to extrapolate that I will be working the weekend again two weeks from now, and two weeks after that, on and on and on...
When I get up in the afternoon, there is a certain order to what I'm going to do, depending on if I'm going to work that night, or I have the night off. If I'm working, then there are certain things I'm going to do in order for my night to go well for me. some of them are obvious, I need to get dinner (breakfast), showered, etc. I'm also going to want to watch the local and national news, and if I can fit it in I'd like to add in a half hour or so of gaming on whatever my current game is. When things conspire to throw my afternoon out of whack, it makes my brain a little more agitated in the evening, and my reactions to things more stressed. Everything I do between 4pm and 6pm is predicated on my being relaxed and ready to go to work. and yes, I leave for work at 6pm. If I'm not working that night, I'm automatically more relaxed about some of it, and most likely I'm going to spend most of the evening from there either watching TV/Movies or playing video games. I still want to usually watch some of the news, and on weeknights will usually catch Colbert and Seth Meyers before going back to movies or games. My nights off also engerally include some laundry, dishes, cleaning of something, and I'm trying to continue unpacking at least a box, or organizing something. Always on my 2nd day off (I alternate between two days off and three days off) I go to the grocery store for fresh food and to stock up for the work week ahead.
When things throw me off schedule it bugs me. It makes me testy, and occasionally short with people. It's not usually their fault, but smaller annoyances become larger when other things throw my schedul out of whack.
Then too as a part of my habits is the way I dress, generally casual, and what I eat and when I eat it.
I don't stray too far in my diet. Not because I'm wathcing what I eat, but because what I'm going to eat is easy to make and doesn't take a bunch of time. I don't generally like spending time in teh kitchen, so I do as little of that as I can get away with. when I need to cook, I can, I know how to make quite a number of things, I just don't like cooking, so my diet is pretty simple. My daughter tries to make fun of me for it, but it doesn't really bother me. I like my dinner habits.
So, just me...
