An introduction
Meet Simurgh:
I was originally going to put together my own box using the 8800 as a base, but found that I could actually get a better deal through the XPS line, with a number of extras. About the only thing I had to compromise on was Vista, which I did not want to go near with a ten foot clown pole, but Dell stopped shipping with XP in December, before the new 8800 was out. It was remarkably painful even getting Vista to connect to the internet, but other than that, no major crap-ups. Hoping it stays that way, but if it doesn't, maybe I'll strip it back to Windows2k. =P
She is a Dell XPS 420, 2.4 intel core2 with quadcore, 3gb ddr2 sdram, 512 nvidia 8800 gt. And a sexy, sexy tax deduction.
