Immovable Object update: part five.

Observe Zevran Arainai, the mighty invader of personal space... and tents! Watch as he climbs fearlessly over the Warden during a Warden-nightmare, and yet lives to tell the tale!

I fail so hard at summaries. :D;;

Also, lookie! It's an Alley, in Dragon Age! FINALLY, THAT NOSE HAS MADE IT INTO A VISUAL FORMAT ( Read more... )

I get unbelievably excited, when ever I come on livejournal and see you have updated. I love her reason for not expecting anything from Zevran. I'm curious about what else Alistair has never had to do and kind of dying to find out how her voice was ruined. Checked out your Alley, she's mean looking, but not truly ugly. I really love your take on the Warden/Zevran relationship.

*g* Keeping in mind that the DA version doesn't have any scar tissue tugging weirdly at skin anywhere, etc, and the nose looks awfully straight from the front (it should be a bit crooked that way too). I guess if you like hawkish, sharp-featured women with big busted noses, she's not too bad looking. She's not supposed to be freakish, anyway, just not pretty and certainly not a beauty. Children might stare at the weird looking woman, but not necessarily run in terror of the big ugly monster.

Her half-brother (who probably doesn't exist in this iteration) is another character I've written in various places, and he's quite pretty, so I've always figured that if her face wasn't kind of mangled she'd just have the kind of features that suit a man better than a woman, leaving her kind of androgynous.

I'm glad you're liking it (and her) so far, that was lovely feedback!

I'm just hoping I didn't make the game-version too not-ugly, if that makes any sense. She's not supposed to be freakish or horrifying, but certainly not someone you'd like to wake up next to after drinking, haha.

EDIT: Although I'm really not in too much danger of that, haha. Good thing I didn't give her eyeshadow or she'd look like a skull with big bat ears! >D (My last CE had the closer-laying ears like Zev, so these continue to amuse me.)

...I'll stop spamming now. ;) I'm just too amused to have her in 3d.

I haven't commented in a while, because I've been busy...er...playing computer games, truthfully. But with regards to the three new chapters I found waiting for me: brilliant.
I really do like Alley. Even I'm a sucker for making all my Wardens pretty or handsome, so it's a refreshing change to find one who isn't especially good-looking. I wouldn't say she's ugly, looking at those pictures of yours, but she definitely suits armour more than a wedding dress :D
Also, would youy prefer me to comment here or at ff.net? I have an account there as well, you see.

The wedding dress was hilarious, and she kinda looks like a goblin with those ears when she's in normal clothing. XD The bulkier the armor, the more respectable she looks though. I can't wait to finally get her into the Legion of the Dead plate, and I'm seriously thinking of doing Orzammar first in my playthrough to get it. THIS MAY END LOLARIOUSLY.

Hm, I was aiming for ugly, though not OMG UGLY AAAH. Granted, when you're used to seeing chicks like every NPC in DA (other than Flemmeth), I think Alley could be considered fairly ugly or at least jarring. Part of Zev's perspective on it may have had to do with getting beaten into the dirt when he first saw her, too. XD And not wanting to piss her off by calling her pretty when she really isn't, and has to know it.

Someone on ffnet just pointed out: "Thing is, I don't think
Zevran ultimately cares what the warden looks like, though people normally do
make their characters ultra pretty in game." which is actually kind of the point. I dunno, but the guy will fall just as hard for a male ( ... )
