Okay, it's a few minutes early, but...
HAPPY 41st ANNIVERSARY DR. WHO!!!
Yes, I'll be totally and completely honest. This really opened my eyes at a tender young age to the wonderful world of British scifi and fantasy.
I think I'm most impressed by the fact that British children seem to have a longer attention span that us poor, spoonfed Yanks. Kinda depresses me when I think too much about the quality of American education when viewed against the rest of the world...
And yet somehow, we're the most medically advanced? How the heck did *that* happen?
But I digress - Dr. Who is awesome! It's mindbending and funny and sometimes quite sad (it broke my angsty little teenage heart when Adric died... and when Tegan left... AAAGGGHHH!). I can't wait to see the 21st century version of Who next year (after we Yanks managed to seriously fuck it all up with one little movie - trust Fox to sodomize a great institution by adding in a little 'oh, my mum was human! Didn't you know? I mean, I realize it blows *30+* years of continuity, but fuck all - we're in America now!')

Here's to 41 more - may I be knitting enormous scarves and pinning celery on the lapels of my great grandchildren!
