BB Orientation
I got like three hours of sleep last night. Getting up at 7:30 on a Saturday...honestly...
It was just me at the orientation. The other kid had prom tonight so he couldn't make it. It's weird having to make one contact with one person like that for like 30 mins. at a time. He kept going through all this corny stuff that no one needed to hear. He's talking to my about stock options and my 401(k) and the such. I'm 19 years old. I don't care.
I had a bunch of corny videos to watch. I'd type them out but no one really cares I'm sure. There was a lot of paperwork. I have a lot of computer training and workbook stuff, which is weird. They don't have you do it all at once. They started me working the register today. I guess you get some hands on then do some training and back and forth. I don't really understand when I'm supposed to do the training. Hopefully somewhere will clear that up.
I cashiered today for like 2 and a half hours. I need to learn that before I go to my real job: customer service. Cashiering was actually pretty fun. I enjoyed it. Customer Service Reps make more and I guess are viewed on a higher reguard...even though we're "all one team".
There's one guy there with spiked hair and he rolls his short-sleeves up. I guess he's the badass employee. How exciting...
Hmm... What else? Oh, the General Manager who did the orientation needed to see my social security card and my liscense for the tax stuff. When he saw my pic he did a doubletake.
Him: Wow! You've certainly lost a lot of weight!
....
Him: No offense, I just mean well, it just looks like you lost a lot of weight.
Me: Yup, I did. When you're poor starvation will do that to you. (laughs)
Him: (laughs) Yeah, I've done that.
I thought that was like the most awkward thing for him to say ever. Like he used to stave himself. LOL I had fun.
The job seems awesome. I get my employee discount after I work for a month. It's 5% above warehouse price. Laptop, here I come! Because I totally have the money. I didn't just blow $300 on an MP3 player and $20 on a pizza delivery I didn't need.
Neuros is pissing me off more and more. If my second player doesn't work (assuming they eer fucking ship me my new unit) then I'm just getting a refund and getting a different player. The Neuros is easily the best player on the market...if the unit you get happens to work. I don't like customer service lying to my face.
And I'm out. I work tomorrow 11-4. I also work next Thurs-Sat. Fun fun fun in the sun sun sun.
