You Want To Take My Soul...Away
This is gonna be a biggie. You've been warned.
I had my second interview on Thursday. It was raining again but I actually wore a coat this time. I get there and let them know that I'm here. I wait a bit and then it's time for the interview.
The guy was from Dayton and his brother went to the University of Toledo so we had something in common right there. When he said Dayton I wanted to yell "Murder Capital of the World!"...but I didn't. Although I know that we were both thinking it. LOL Moving right along...
The interview went well. I ended up getting a job offer, which I took. I had applied for Cashier but they thought I was better suited for Customer Service. This means I'll be dealing with exchanges, credit card applications, picking up items that people had ordered on-line or that are kept inthe backroom and so on.
I found the fact that they thought I would be better at Customer Service to be quite amusing. I guess while I look at myself as very anti-social and neurotic, both McDonalds and now Best Buy point to the fact that I actually do quite well with people, at least in a professional sense.
He told me that I'd have orientation either next week or the week after. I also had to get a drug test ASAP. He gives me the address of some medical facility. I've never even been to Monroeville more than twice so I obviously had no idea where it is. I call the bus company and figure out what bus to take. It takes 40 minutes to get there.
After I get there I still have to cross some highway to get to the facility. But I do end up getting there. There was only one staff member working with like 5 people in front of me. I was going to be there for a while so I decided to call Corey. As soon as he picked up I knew it was a mistake. The room was small so not only could they hear me but they could hear Corey...and the volume was on 1.
So basically I talk to him for 2 mins and then tell him I have to go. He replied "Well, good luck. I hope you pass after all that weed you've smoked your whole life." Mind you, everyone in the waiting room just heard that. I say "Yup, and the cocaine and methamphetamines, too." And hang up the phone. Oygle.
So I pee in the cup and make my way back to the mall to take the bus back to my apartment. The ride to the mall takes a literal hour. At one point it looped back to where it originally picked me up. Yes, that annoying.
So I get to the mall and this crazy lady is talking to me about what bus I should take to get home faster. Here was my favorite part:
Her: Yes, if you take the 67D you'll... (children are screaming in the BG) GOD! I can't talk with these kids in the background. I'm going to shoot myself.
Me: (laughs)
Her: No... It's not funny. I seriously can't stand it.
I went to the bathroom shortly after as she was freaking me OUT.
Oh yeah. I make $7.75 an hour at Best Buy which is the most I've ever made at a job. I'll probably be working Fri-Sun, 8 hours a day. Not bad at all. I'll have money again!
My Neuros has yet to ship. I ordered it last Saturday. When it didn't ship by Tuesday I e-mailed the guy and he said that it takes a little time to ship, he expects it to go out this week. So Saturday comes and I still haven't gotten a shipping confirmation. Mind you, the store said this item was in-stock. In-stock orders ship the next business day, not over a week later. I basically e-mailed him Saturday and told him this and that I was rather annoyed. I don't fucking care. I don't order something for close to $300 that's in-stock and then have to wait over a week for it to ship. He has 100% positive feedback on bizrate or whatever but a lot of people did mention shipping sometimes took over a week... I want my Digital Audio Computer...and I want it now!
Friday I went to pick up my check. It wasn't in. The lady said the loan just went through and I can pick it up next week. In the meantime, rent is due. Rent is due the first but isn't late as long as it's in by the 5th. I get my check the 6th. SOOO..I 'll have to write my rent check the 4th, deposit my check on the 6th and hope all goes well. It takes a few days for checks to clear anyhow, right? I hope. LOL Bouncing a rent check would be fun, I'm sure.
Friday I hung out with Phil and Bobby. It was fun. We watched American Psycho and then several epsiodes of Arrested Development. it was a good time had by all. It was nice to actually be out and doing things with other people. We also went out to dinner and went shopping a bit.
Not much else to say. I'll be cleaning a lot today. The end.
