[The voice that follows is just a octave above a whisper. Not because he's trying not o disturb, but because he couldn't raise it any higher if he wanted to.]

The plague..

Will not befall you, my friend.

Not.. not unless.. you have had your chip taken out..

In recent time.

[It takes a great effort, but from one intellectual mind to another..]

But nothing.. really.

Humans show a particular.. tenaciousness to survive... It helps having a brain and being.. able to somehow adapt.

What is.. key though is outlasting those extremes... through cooperation of individuals.

That trait sets humans well above all other animals.

Did you know.. friend?

That modern humanity... has survived one Ice Age?

There were people that.. actually adapted to living within the harshness... of the Arctic biome.

Which extend over most of the northern hemisphere.

But these were in times which we were a far studier species. In these days and in this age the population has become increasingly lazy and unmotivated to survive. Not only that we have not adapted to these harsh environments like our ancestors. Sudden changes in one's ecosystem are what destroy a population.

Excuse me if my guess is wrong, but are you perhaps another infected by this "plague"?

Yes.. I am.

I will.. be asleep very soon.

Fighting.. internal battles... are one of man's eternal foes.

I just.. happened to lose this one.

Luckily.. through the study.. on me..

No one else has... to go to sleep this way..

If they don't want to.
