I have found it! THE ANSWER!
I have finally discovered what it was that destroyed the original inhabitants of Discedo! It was the same events of these last months! I cannot believe I didn't see it before!
The earthquakes are the reason that the buildings were in such a horrible state before it was that we arrived here. It was then after that the ashes set in and with them a strange disease. During the fall of the ashes, monsters from inside the forest slowly crept into the city and began to over run it. Shortly thereafter came the acid rain, which as it had last month ruined the water supply!
Finally, as we are witnessing now, snow fell over the original citizens of Discedo when they had no heat or necessary supplies and ultimately they froze to death!
Which finally explains why I have heard that it was a disease that wiped out the old population! Do you not see?! The answer is obviousl!
