Great extended holiday weekend

Good morning!  Here's a recap of this weekend's festivities:
  • On Friday, my buddy, Skip, came into town and hung out at the house.  I bought LaRosa's pizza and he got to hold Jackson for a long time.  Sadly, Skip made me an offer that I had to refuse.  He procured an extra seat to last Saturday's Bengals game (18th row in one of the end zones).  As much as I would have liked to have gone, there was no way to grab a babysitter on short notice -- especially on Christmas Eve.
  • On Saturday, I went to the Children's Mass at St. Barbara's in Florence with many of my in-laws.  I had three kids in two but they gave me a lot of help watching them.  In the evening, we went over my in-laws (Diane's parents) for a few hours.
  • On Sunday, the kids opened their gifts in the morning to experience unwrapping galore.  Then, we got cleaned up and went to more in-laws (the homes of essentially Diane's two oldest brothers and their wonderful families) for a few hours.  I would have loved to stayed longer but the kids were wiped.  Keep that in mind for the next update.
  • On Monday, we left for my mother's apartment.  We met my siblings and my sister, Lisa, who joined us via Windows Live! to watch the kids unwrap presents.  The kids started off well but were burned out after 6 o'clock.  The cue was Olivia coming over to her mother and in her loudest voice of the night stating, "Mommy -- I'm ready to go home now!!"  We said our goodbyes an on the way home, got to listen to Olivia whine and occasionally cry from being so tired but yet didn't want to go to sleep.  Isaac passed out in the first 10 minutes of the trip and I think pretty much slept till we got home.
Overall, it was a good trip but I did feel sorry for the kids toward the end.  It was a lot of activity that they were not used to.  Plus, they did not get a lot of nap time in but hopefully, they will catch up over the next few days.  Still, I had fun seeing my family again and would like to go down there again soon.
