Kilt Love!
I finally got Jack in Kilt, Yay! *swoon* I've been trying to convince him to get one for some time now. He says he can't wear one because he's not scottish, but my dad and I were both quick to point out that the Irish also wore kilts but their kilts were traditionally a solid color. So eventually he said he might consider wearing one if I could find him a solid dark green one. We saw one once for sale at a scottish festival but that was before I had gotten him to agree to wear one, and now I can't find one. So I'm on the look out for one. In the mean time my dad let him try on his old kilt. Dad has apparently gotten a new one recently because he is now playing with the Southern Indiana Pipe Band as well as doing the occasional gig with the Columbus Pipe Band. Anyway isn't he adorable?
I've just got to get him one of his own with the whole outfit so he can wear it to the festivals. Of course I'll be staying near by. I mean look at those knees... there is no way I'd let him out of my sight. ;) He'd win the best knees contest for sure!
Here's dad playing the back pipes on memorial day at Valhalla Cemetery. Unfortunately, we missed his performance because we were on our way to New York at the time. Luckily though he's got some more gig's lined up. Later this summer he will probably be playing at the Annual Columbus Scottish Festival.
