Personally, I would say Shinobu's a badass female protagonist than a representation of a Black girl vs. a pompous White man. While the game tries to sell her out as a sex symbol (like her shower scene saves XD) but it's No More Heroes! Every girl char is shown as sex symbols with BRAINS and personality, Shinobu is just pure kickass who doesn't need to be super seductive and she genuinely respects and loves Travis. Very honorable girl she is too.

She's just one of a kind. Knowing Suda51, he wants to break stereotypes, cliches and trends. While this is not about racism, it's more of breaking the cliche of media - He's probably sick of how the love interest is the same type of women - Sexy, weak, white female protagonist who is always in distress.

Instead of casting the usual white girl falling for Travis (I don't count Sylvia as white, she's half Ukrainian/Japanese and quite badass in a sexual way), he has Shinobu to break the stereotypes and cliche trends. (Also with Killer 7 where Gracian, a black man, is the lead assassin of the 7 personalities).

It's meant to portray in a positive light. Though yeah, I think the commentor is reading into too much. I didn't see it as a Black girl vs. rich, white man. I saw it as some arrogant old man getting his ass kicked by a badass little girl. Her race might come into play just a liiiiiiiitttle, knowing Suda51's love for Black people and breaking away from cliches.

Not to sound like I didn't read your comment, because I did, and it makes sense.

But it just furthers my love for Shinobu.
