Comics Grumbles

I bought No. 1 of the new comic Wakanda Forever (in a Spiderman issue). Because Dora Milaje - right??

I got interested in the warriors they're based on - the historical King's Guard of Dahomey - which I first learnt about from the short stories by Charles R. Saunders about Dossouye, a warrior in the Guard - many years ago. So naturally I love them (the Dora, that is).

So, anyway, I bought the comic - even though it's Marvel and I'm usually (with a couple of rare exceptions) a DC cove. And then at the end when they trailed part two I found they had done that thing I really hate.

Part two will be found in an X-Men comic.

I hate it when they make you charge all over their titles buying random issues just to follow a story. Yeah, I realise it's supposed to make you try a new title, that you may never have considered, and see if you like it. And yeah, it probably seems like a good marketing strategy, but it still pisses me off a treat.

And, also yeah, I hate it when TV shows do it too. (CSI and Supergirl, I'm frowning in your direction!!)

Don't make me buy random other comics I'm not interested in (I've never really liked Spiderman that much). Give them their own comic, damn it!!
