I turned 29 on Thursday, so I guess I have to accept that I'm now in my 30th year! Certainly been an interesting year. The highlights were almost having cancer, losing 30lb by (mostly) cutting sugar out of my diet and the big one: finding out I'm going to be a Daddy again. Lots of new things to look forward to the coming year.
Had a fun weekend, started Friday evening when we went to see Thomas's teachers. They both seem like nice people. Also got to meet some of the other parents and, since it's a Christian academy saw the church and leadership team there also. Finally got all of the school list items bought this evening. We'll see how he does tomorrow, am expecting a rough couple of days as he adjusts but he'll do fine I'm sure.
Finally bought my rifle today. Decided not to buy the .243 afterall and got a refurbished Soviet Mosin-Nagant M91/30 instead. The gun is a 7.62x54R calibre and was made in 1944 (!) and is in mint condition, it even had all of the original accessories including a bayonet. Very pleased with it and looking forward to going shooting next weekend.
Billy and Christel and family and Timmy and Tom over for dinner in the evening. Kelly surprised me with a birthday cake as well. :)
