Swearing In

Originally uploaded by zephrene. Yesterday Mom and I went to the Civil Courthouse downtown for the Swearing In and Investiture Ceremony for the Honorable Judge Josefina Rendon, who was elected to the 165th Civil District Court in November.
I've known Judge Rendon since I was about seven years old, she and Mom and the dads were in the PTA together. It was a wonderful ceremony, lots of her family members were there, and the reception afterward offered some quality catching-up time.
It also afforded me an opportunity to take some really amazing photos of downtown and the courthouse. Gorgeous views, and a really amazing new courtroom for the 165th.
