Dead man walking
These past few days the only shut eye that I ever managed to do would be about two hours' sleep a night. Mind, that really doesn't count the ten minute in between studying and answering an exam naps that I got to squeeze in. With the end of the semester coming up, we've been bombarded with exams and case presentations that were stretched into a 'good' two weeks. Personally, I prefer to get it over with in one go - that is to say, in about three or four days at most - than to prolong the agony. Not that many people would agree of course but for me, it's better than having to keep waiting in anticipation; it just builds up more anxiety.
So far I've managed to get through the first week, culminating with the very nerve-wracking Saturday where we had:
a) a case presentation for our patient with mitral valve stenosis;
b) my Pediatrics teacher's version of the finals exam (We still have to take the departmental finals version, woe.)
c) a Pedriatrics long exam (20 questions, 100 points, essay)
The presentation turned out to be quite successful despite the group thinking that we'd mess up and be asked with gazillion questions that we won't be able to answer by the panel. To be honest, I was pretty surprised that the panel wasn't being hard on us when usually they grill the students alive. We really must have done such great work ne! :D Volunteering to the first group to present was probably a good move too since the doctors and nurses were still in their 'happy morning moods'~
To commemorate the group's sucess for that day, I now present this marvelous cup~!
And what makes this cup so special? For starters, it held the same coffee that the panel drank (and loved, I'm sure
). Second, I poured my very own coffee into it without spilling anything or on someone~ Lastly, said coffee managed to keep me alive for the rest of the day. Ah, the power of coffee!
