The new front garden is going well. Today, Jim and I planted a dwarf spruce, two rose bushes, and several flowers. We laid down that black anti-weed stuff around them.
Tomorrow, I'm going back to buy some more flowers to fill in the edges, and probably place an order for a truck load of mulch and some bricks to build up edging with. I want to put a short path of paving stones from the sidewalk to the water spigot, so I need some paving stones. I also want Jim to look at hose boxes and see if he thinks we could keep the hose in one of them.
I bought a couple packages of daffodil and tulip bulbs to put in the little plot in front of the porch. I'd like to brick it in before putting the bulbs in, and the planting instructions say it's fine to plant in October or November, so I haven't put them in the ground yet.
I'm pondering buying a lawn ornament or two, but I want something really cool. Anyone know of places to find great lawn ornaments? I'm particularly fond of gargoyles and fish.
