I have never seen this much pedestrian traffic in this neighborhood before. All day today and yesterday there have been groups of people going to and from the Extreme Makeover project. The spectator entrance is on Danbury, just one house over, so they're all going right past us. There's been a lot of motor traffic too, including periodic tour buses.
We walked down to the site yesterday after returning from the art fair, and the spectator crowd was even larger than on Friday. They had most of the frame up and were lifting preconstructed A-shaped frames up to the roof with a huge crane. It looked around eight stories tall. They have out floodlights that light up the site like it's daytime. We watched them working the crane and putting up the frame of the roof for awhile, and it looked like they would have the whole thing done in another hour. It's not a huge house, since the lots here are small, but it's astonishing how quickly they're putting it up.
I haven't been down there today, but I overheard one of the neighbors saying they had the windows in. I'd like to walk back down later and get a look at it again.
