So guys, remember this thought back in June?
If I were at all code-savvy I would develop an RPG where you implement daily tasks and weekly or
monthly quests for your character, and she prospers or withers accordingly and gives the
geeky brain a big boost to initiative. Are you listening, Apple? This would make zillions.
It turns out some people had the same kinda thought about a year ago, except with a bit more unfortunate nerd- and fatty-bashing that is kinda making me reconsider signing up with them after hearing about the site through, of all things,
today's XKCD. Witness, Fitocracy:
So in August 2010, Richard got the idea: what if fitness could be turned into a game? After all,
both he and Brian understood how addictive it could be trying to get to that next level, beating
that next boss, and completing that next quest (not that they spent their childhoods doing that
or anything...) They also realized that the addiction games create was the exact same addiction
that drives their fitness weights every day.
It seems more competitively based than my character-driven idea, so maybe there is still a niche for us tabletop gamers looking to be a little better to our bodies and actually play through a compelling story at the same time. Actually if the guys who run Kingdom of Loathing just tweaked it a bit, they would already have that idea nailed.

EDIT: yyeeeaaah no, it looks like the unholy dude-bro lovechild of Facebook and Google+; I am no longer intrigued.
