the prophesy fulfilled
If you had asked me, as a six year old, to make a prophesy about my future, it would have been something along these lines:
"The veil parts, and through it I can see that verily thou shalt toil and slave for no earthly recompense, but lo! on that day that you spin a tale of a unicorn, that shall be the day of thy reward."
Of course I'm paraphrasing. What I probably would have said was "Moondancer is the best My Little Pony ever!" But that amounts to about the same thing.
So, yeah, I just made my first $50 off my writing. Guess how? No, guess. That's right. A collegiate humor website that awards $50 a week for the best paragraph written on a specific theme. Mine was "why today is the happiest day of your life." And that's right. I wrote about a unicorn.
