Interesting

I just noticed that nobody on my friends list made any sort of 9/11 related post. I think maybe everyone is really busy with their lives. It's weird how this date has kind of become a reverse pseudo-holiday for this country and people always seem to remember that day around this time of year now. Most other tragic events in history don't share this type of attention. I think this is due mainly to a few factors. One is that this is still a fairly recent event, only a few years ago, though we're actually approaching half a decade next year when you think about it. Two is that other events aren't named after the date that they happened so people don't necessarily know the date of the event. Think about it, you don't know what date Kennedy was shot, what date Hitler took power or invaded his neighbors, or what date anything else tragic happened because the events aren't named after the date they happened. The only reason I know what dates the Oklahoma City bombing and Columbine were is because they were on 4/20 (also Hitler's birthday). Anyway, it was a very sad and important day in history, but I'm glad I didn't see any retarded chain letters about it today.
