I live!

I'm back!

I have a sore throat, so I highly anticipate my voice to desert me tomorrow (precisely when I need to make a phone call! - Some of you will probably already know what for!).

In short, GenCon was a lot of fun. I didn't get to do nearly as much as I would have liked but got to do more than I expected, so there's a nice balance. I'll write up a full report when I've recovered somewhat. In the meantime, I need to adjust to being back home, figure out what I'm going to do about food tonight, do some financial triage on the inevitable fallout from my bank account, and generally phase back in line with the generality of life in general.

Quick highlights:
 - "Commie Mutant Braaaains!"
 - Learning to wield a real sword!
 - Fun, frolics and frivolity at the Fluxx 10th Birthday Party (far better than the Wizkids party that ran parallel to us)
 - The surname of the Wizkids guy handing out The Mad Monk HorrorClix promo was actually Rasputin! Really!
 - Timmy (the dog in Five Go Mad in Innesmouth) goes running off into a dark room. From another table comes the completely coincidental cry of "Come back, Timmy!" [Yes, they were also playing the same adventure; otherwise it would be elevated into the realm of freaky!]
 - Losing the pub quiz by only half a point! [Would be higher on the list if we'd won it, but considering we were a team of five and they were a team of eight, it's still pretty cool! We still have no idea how we got that many points.]
 - Playing and winning Infernal Contraptions (a game that has just come out) to then have it appear in the pub quiz, to then win it the second time I played it. It was fun. [This, also, would be higher on the list had the only two copies in the trade hall not been nabbed before I got there.]
 - ...and probably much more I either can't remember at present or can't be bothered outlining. For those who want to know more about how it went, wait for my report.

looney labs, roleplaying, gaming, conventions, games, genconuk
