Well, almost ready for OddConUK. It's been quite stressful the past couple of months. Money has been the root of it for the most part, or lack thereof. Quite fortunately, I've just about got enough to afford to go to OddConUK this year, which is just as well what with me being one of the guys running it!

Last year was RAWSOC's first venture out to the Student Nationals. We did pretty well for our first outing (2nd in the Quiz, nice but no points; 1st and 2nd places in True Random, 1st place in Science Fiction, and the Good Sportsmanship Award, overall coming 8th out of nearly 30 teams, some of which were considerably larger than ours ( Read more... )

With the volcanic ash still grounding air traffic, of one thing I can be thankful: that I did not stubbornly choose to fly to Edinburgh for the forthcoming Student Nationals this weekend. While there is no guarantee that air traffic will still be grounded come Friday, I'm really thankful not to have the stress of cancelled tickets, potentially lost ( Read more... )

OddConUK is almost here and I've been doing the final push to get prepared. Unfortunately, prepared is anything but how I feel right now. Maybe it's due to the fact that I was ill for the first half of the month which meant I couldn't do any prep work like read/write scenarios, work on the website, sort out my travel and what I'm taking with me.
