I love a productive weekend! I got up early to trim the ivy and creepers around the house - a fortnightly job in warm weather. I'd forgotten that we were having an Oxfam meeting over breakfast - fortunately Jess reminded me. My homework from the meeting is to investigate campers so we have somewhere to sleep halfway through the walk. Between breakfast and the 1000 steps I got my legs waxed and Charmaine went to the post office. Then we did the walk, thankful for the cool weather. Then it was home to keep varnishing the doors, write reports, keep the chickens out of the lounge room while the door was drying on a table outside and keep Penny away from the chickens (except when I needed her to scare them away from the house).
I also finished reading 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower', which wasn't anything like I thought it was going to be, and was really good. The central character is a teenage boy who, although it isn't stated outright, seems pretty autistic. The book is in the form of letters from him and the story is quite beautiful but also heart wrenching in places. I highly recommend it! I should probably see the movie. I think I've fallen a long way behind on my Goodreads goal of 50 books. Might be able to catch up over Christmas though. Not being on FB much really helps.
