Luke took me to see the Stephen Fry simulcast at the cinema in Ringwood! It was a very nice surprise:). Then we had kebabs. So romantic;). Actually, a kebab was exactly what I felt like having.
My class spent all day today doing an activity that I thought would take an hour or so. We made a timeline of Melbourne (including pre-European settlement) broken up into decades with significant world events listed for the same period. Although getting children to understand what a significant world event is is tricky. For example, the invention of ice-cream truck technology sits alongside World War 2.
I finished an excellent book called 'The Night Circus'. It's a romantic and luxuriously descriptive fantasy set in an alternative 19th century. I recommend it.
