Okay, I haven't posted in over a month, missed much luau due to RL (mainly good things -- busy busy busy me), have been thinking of you all muchly, so why not dip in with a meme and save
hkath from being the last to do this one.
1. Elaborate on your default icon.
Sawyer, wanting to be read to. Irresistible.
2. What's your current relationship status?
Um. Separated, on the way to divorce. Seem to be dating someone who seems to call me his "girlfriend." Can't seem to use the term "boyfriend" at this juncture.
3. Ever have a near-death experience?
Well, once I was absolutely convinced I was going to crash into a road divider, and I didn't, so it felt that way to me.
4. Name an obvious quality you have?
I’m basically happy. Took me this year to realize this. Yeah, various sadnesses, but I can always see something positive around me. Like dappled sunlight in the shade.
5. What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now?
Joan Osborne's "One of Us."
6. Any celeb you would marry?
Well, I'd have to go with
zelda_zee's take on this one. Marry, jeez, pass on that. Sleep with, well there sure are a lot of tempting pretties out there...
7. Who will cut and paste this first?
I have been out of LJ for a while, but since both hkath and zelda_zee think they're the last, I must be pretty near the end. Will have to go back in time and read more. This is a fun meme.
8. Name someone with the same birthday as you.
My grandfather. My cousin's daughter. Cary Grant. A.A. Milne. Peter Roget.
9. Do you have a crush on someone?
Well, the obvious Josh, Naveen. Agree with zz on this one -- stuff for fantasies, safe and far away. Closer to home crushes -- too nerve-wracking!
10. Have you ever vandalized someone's private property?
No.
11. Have you ever been in a fight?
No. Well, childhood sibling tiffs -- do they count?
12. Have you ever sung in front of a large audience?
Yes.
13. What's the first thing you notice about the OPPOSITE sex?
Gawd I hate that this is true, but ring finger. No ring means maybe available, then it's worth looking beyond. Next thing? Gawd, I have no idea. It's the overall picture. Going for height these days, since ex was short.
14. What do you usually order from Starbucks?
I don't. Patronize local coffee shop and order tea. Chai if they make their own.
15. Have you ever hurt yourself on purpose?
Yes.
16. Say something totally random about yourself.
I make up songs when I ride my bike along the river in the morning. And I sing them, loudly.
17. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
Amy Irving. Jill Clayburgh. This was a long time ago.
18. Do you wear a watch? What kind?
Bulova. Analog, with all the numbers and a second hand.
19. Do you have anything pierced?
Ears.
20. Do you have any tattoos?
Nope. Just admire them on other people.
21. Do you like pain?
No.
22. Do you like to shop?
Depends.
23. What was the last thing you paid for with cash?
Corn on the cob, peaches, and homemade peach ice cream at the farmers' market.
What was the last thing you paid for with a credit card?
I'm going for the debit card these days. And that would be groceries at Whole Foods.
25. Who was the last person you spoke to on the phone?
Painter. I am painting my house orange. With red and yellow trim. Going for the peach/sunrise look.
26. What is on your desktop background?
The world map thingy it came with.
27. What is the background on your cell phone?
Picture of my kid.
28. Do you like redheads?
Yes.
29. Do you know any twins?
Yes.
30. Do you have any weird relatives?
Hmmm... define "weird." Since I wouldn't exactly call myself normal... Tho I do have a formerly cool aunt who has become an extremely right wing knee-jerk conservative. There are just certain topics we just never touch on. Weather is usually pretty safe.
31. What was the last movie you watched?
Head of State. Chris Rock. With my kids. Better than expected. As was Anchorman, the one I saw before that. Superman Returns in a movie theater.
32. What was the last book you read?
Selling the Light of Heaven by Suzanne Strempek Shea. Am now reading A Wall of Light by Edeet Ravel. Hmmm... is there an inadvertent theme to my reading list?
