Goodness, I feel as if I have fallen off the LJ planet and I miss everybody!!!
Finally just getting back in here and figured it was time to update a little bit, and try to catch up with everyone.
Busy busy with new and more work, which is good for those like me who are self-employed and take whatever we can get so the more we get the more we get, cept it means less time for truly worthwhile things like fandom.
And, confession: I met a boy.
Do you know how strange it is to go on a "date" with someone new after being with the same person since 1984? (Well, considering some of you were, like, being born then, maybe not...).
Strange, yes, and well, right now, totally fun, and certainly gets the mind (among other things) off yucky stbx. But last time I was dating, I didn't have children. And parents visiting, and I'm not ready to tell any of them because, jeezus, it's only been a week, don't feel like going there until it's something more certain. So, what do I do because I'm longing to see new squeeze? Lie. Partially. Tell visiting folks I'm going to friends' farewell party, then leave party early so I can go for long starlit walk with the boy. Oh, I'm bad.
So, finally, here I am, back again,
zelda_zee tells me about some queen for a day thingy going on here that I don't quite get, and I finally log on and discover I am never in a million years gonna catch up because it turns out that apparently, when someone is queen for a day all us subjects get to share in whatever she gets. Am overwhelmed with deluge of promising fics and such, and the only thing I am missing is time.
And wondering if someone can explain how this Queen thing works, anyway. Are there rules somewhere? Not like I do have time, but maybe it might get me back into the lovely world of fic writing.
