80's night and pub crawl!
Hey lovers!
It's been a good week!
except for neuro. That class is gonna be painful.
Anyways, this past week I've had my first on-call duty ever! YAY! It was cool. relatively quiet in the beginning, but i've gotten a few calls regarding RWRU these past few days. It's really cool! Had a mix-up yesterday though.
The exotics hospital calls,
"Hey, you can come pick up the great horned owl."
"Oh, do you mean BAMF? (one of our resident owls)"
"Um, not sure. But the owl's ready to go back to RWRU."
So, I go in, pick up BAMF, and try to get info from the tech who knew nothing. So, I take Bamf back to the cages, grab dinner and go home.
I literally just sat down, the phone rings, "Hey, it's me again, you picked up the wrong bird. I'm so sorry!"
"Which bird was I supposed to get?"
"The other owl. I was wondering what you were talking about when you mentioned Bamf. Do you think you could bring him back and switch em up? We just need to monitor his diet and weight gain right now."
"Sure, I'll be there in a bit."
I crammed down dinner and slept for 30 minutes, got ready for the pub crawl downtown. Went to the hospital again, chased down Bamf. Brought him in and switch up the owls only to hear:
"Oh, you're sweet. You didn't have to come in now, we could have done this saturday." Meanwhile, I was an hour late to meet up with people for this shindig, then having to find out that I didn't need to go made me a bit miffed.
So, then I get to Kevin's and we head down town. SO much fun! Met so many people and got to see a bunch of very cool places!
Then, we head over to IVAR's (a bar/grill), and Rachel and I had the BEST pizza ever. So yummy. Then after-party at Aisha's until I fell asleep on the couch. And now today is rainy and sleepy. Very nice.
Have to brave the cold now to take care of the birds.
Gonna go see Blood and Chocolate tonight. Let you guys know how it is.
