fsdlkjfsdkldfk SUPERNATURAL IS ON IN 10 MINUTES I CAN'T HANDLE
I can't handle it because I always have to wait to download, and then I inevitably get exposed to spoilers or even worse non-spoilery reactions because then I speculate wildly and drive myself to misery because I'm certain that 1) people who were pleased were probably pleased at things that I hate, and 2) people who were displeased are going to make fandom no fun
I guess I am just filled with a deeply pessimistic suspicion that people don't ~read SPN right~ or something, ugh wow self, that is majorly bitchy.
And then I usually really enjoy the episode, and have plenty of fun and faith in where this season is going for Sam and Dean, and eagerly await the next ep!
I just don't belong on the internet on wednesday night, is all.
I recced my last rocksalt rec, and I think I did pretty damn okay! I did not plan for this well; I spent this month going crazy because work sucked for a few weeks, editing my minibang, getting sick for a week, finishing up my minibang, and THEN finally getting to my reccing obligations at rocksalt_recs, right around when I posted my minibang. I signed up for said reccing obligations, btw, they were completely voluntary and I was very excited when I signed up, I am just fickle and self-doubting and not in the habit of reading SPN fic really. I wanted to find NEW GEMS and HIDDEN TREASURES but basically ended up going through my favorites and realizing, hey, you like these popular fics for a reason, just pick your favorite things that feel special to you and rec them. I definitely got more golden oldies and best hits type things than "super unique premise" or "hidden gem" or "hot new thing". But I did rec quite a bit of art off tumblr, because art is great and sometimes, despite some pieces going viral, you have to do a little digging to find some very talented unique artists.
This weekend I stayed in and delighted in writing and reading fic, while my writing was at the beta. I got in the two minibangs I'd really been looking forward to and it was soooo delicious, being cozy on the couch with some peach vodka in my pepsi and finishing off a Ben and Jerry's carton. I'm still on a wincest high, oh my god. coyotesuspect has suckered me and I think gold_bluepoint too into kind of doing NaNoWriMo. Not the full 50k, not me at least, nnnooo, but a sort of "write every day" thing. And I AM MOTIVATED. I have two, maybe three fics in my head for sure that I want to write, disregarding whatever bits and pieces are lying dusty in the scrapyard/workshop. My strategy of "be self-indulgent" for my minibang turned out working really well, in that I liked what I wrote, I liked writing it, and some people have read it and liked it too :D fanfiction!! I missed it. I wish I didn't angst over it so much.
So, as I wait for SPN to finish airing so I can dl it, before we roomies g_b and coyote and I gather together to watch it, I have to finish up my art and turn the drafts into finished pieces for annie46's minibang which posts on Friday!
Crazy fun fannish weeks :) and hopefully more crazy fun fan activity ahead of me! :D
