The flight over was fine. 14 hours in the Los Angles air port wasnt how i prefer to spend a day but it passed fairly painlessly. Quantas is nice enough that sleep is posbile so most of the flight was spent that way.
Jason picked me up from the airport around seven am. We walked around down town until about 5, when i could barely stand and crashed in the hostle room. I woke up around four...yeah that was boreing but jason was up and around before too long and we went to the Toronga Zoo. which has many echidna! Those spikey egg laying, pouched lactating critters are absolutly fantastic! We spent all day there (no photos as i forgot my camera...) and still didnt see quite everything so we might go back another day. Jason was highly amused by my enthusiaims for the zoo critters and thinks I should be a zoo keeper. if it had a livable wage the career would be tempting but five years or more of school for less pay than most secretaries make just dosnt seem wise. though iguanas are very neat...
today we left the city and I met his parents. That was fairly painless. They arent fasinating people like Dr. Baker but for are pleasnt none the less. Tomorrow we're going down to Wollongong to meet his friend Geof (Jeff).
The crazy surprise he's been planning is reveiled; he got tickts for this wednesday to see Mahler's 6th performed at the Sydney Opera House! How cool is he for recognzing the name of one of my favorite composers? How wonderful will that be? I havent heard this one yet, I only have his 4th, 5th, 9th and 10th. EEEEEEEEE! No wonder he told me to bring some nice clothes.
jason rocks, australia rocks, life pretty well rocks hard core style right now.
Toodles!
