The Answer to the Question Never to be Answered!

yes thats right, it is now known what i am like drunk. I am 'the phylisophical drunk'. apparently the only inhibition i have to remove is talking about everything. from the biochemical processes of drunkenness to why people you are found of seem more attractive to the construction of personal perceptions ( some of it in spanish) all the things i dont say because people dont care come out, but there was no profession of love or want of physical contact, there was less danceing and inuendo use all while i discoverd the joys of turning my head quickly.

that experiance taken care of i can now check it off my list and go back to orange juice durring drinking games.

so thats the main story of Saturday.

The day before was very exciting, though confusing. heaps of people from North Flinders (my dorm) went out on a habour cruise around Darwin. there was free snacks and dancing and chatting, a general social event. I, in perfect character, spent most my time dancing or jumping into photos. It was lovely though. The stars were prefectly clear and for the little city that is is, Darwin has a beautiful night sky-line. After that the good times kept roleing at The Vic, Darwin's favorite club! I discovered that Yasso was an exceltnt dancer but spent most of the night danceing with one Jason Deady...he'd nearly left early because a chick he professes liking didnt show up but even once she was there and they had greeted eachother he kept dancing with me...
anywho

Yasso is an interesting charater. one night last week i had been riding my bike around midnight. I bumped into him and his engineering budies and i wound up having a second dinner (of instant noodles) with them. afterwards he talked to me for an hour or so about his life. Brillaint man ( doing PHD work on identification useing patterns in the iris and hes already had several papers published and spoke at conferances in europe and america for his work at his home university in Egypt) with a painful past. Life is so complicated and people so adaptive- wait, not drunk i cant go into that sort of stuff =^P

on monday i had a great class on wild life in Indonesia and that evening was a guest on a radio show! I just gave impressions of Darwin vs the US and multi-culteralism and what not. My friend Mohammad has been trying to get me on his show all semester so it was great to get done. We also made plans to see X-Men III togeather. Its only a week away!

man i love marine biology. we went on a field trip Wednessday to the local aquarium for my ecology class and man, i fell in love with every tank. there werent even cephlopods and i was enthralled!

(the guy behind me is going through great effor to kill a cockroach that i have been igrnoreing or watching with amusment why typeing. I just dont get the need to destroy impulse.)

Tuesday! My last game of cricket! We will be starting a net-ball team so i wont miss out on my weekly romp with the boys but i'll miss that sport...i should start a team when i get home. it was strange though. they finnaly talked another girl into coming. She couldnt bowl properly but no one tried to correct her durring practice. She got hit and everyone rushed to her, she never tried to bat and no one sugested it. She commented that Sam had mentioned my enjoyment of it and to that she's just said "but rachel is like a man".i refelct. when i got my whopping bruise no one fliched as i insisted on ignoreing it. People laughed and coached me into bowling propperly. I feel accomplished that the guys consider me one of their own, but do i miss out on something by being 'one of the boys'? What ever, net ball should be fun. its like basketball but when you catch the ball you have to stand still and there are permanant goal keepers.

and thats enough of my nonsequencial recolections to amusse the likes of you for another week or so,

you mate Down-Under
