Susan stared at the plant in front of her, looking down at the paper in her hand, then back at the plant. A small clod of dirt flew past her ear, playfully thrown by her partner who had just finished collecting a different plant sample. "What's wrong?"

"I think I found it."

Neville moved over to look over her shoulder at the notes and then down at the plant she was referring to. He crouched down next to it, comparing the leaf alignment and shape, sepal and petal numbers and position to the official description they had brought along of the elusive plant they were wanting to study. "I think you're right."

He looked over at the sun's position on the horizon as he pushed his dark hair back from his brow. But he was grinning as he turned back to her. "And in good time, too. Let's collect this and head back to the camp."

It was nearly sunset when they returned to their makeshift camp. The plant samples they'd collected were quickly stored and their tools cleaned, taking advantage of the dying light while they still had it. As the sun began its descent they made a simple supper, then ate it while watching the simplest yet best of all light shows. They sat close together, arms wrapped around each other as they watched the sky turned pink and orange in a symphony of color before them.

Darkness fell around them as they held each other close, enjoying each other's bodies now that the sunset's show of color had finished. Her button down shirt came off first, tossed in the general direction of their packs as she tugged as his long-sleeved tee. She had barely pulled it off before he started removing her tank, both of them most intent upon exposing as much skin as possible. The touch of warm skin on skin only fueled their fire for each other, pressing against each other, lips against lips against skin, fingers roaming, touching, finding, teasing, bringing. She reveled in his touch, the streams of fire following the trace of his fingers enveloping her until she could feel the sunset burning around her and reached out to him, bringing him with her.

She rested her head on his chest as the light breeze cooled them, drying the sweat that covered her back. Susan propped up on her elbows when his chuckle vibrated through his chest, giving him a quizzical look.

"Think next time we can at least make it to the tent?"
