Holly's sense of entitlement drives me crazy. Of COURSE she deserves a Firebolt after all the stress she's been through! (Of course, Harry has been through much MORE stress at this point, since he still thinks Sirius is out to kill him...)
And I also hate her whining about the Patronus Charm. She's going on about "Why does it have to be so HARD? I should be able to do this right away so that I don't have to waste my tiem actually struggling with the spell and my emotions, like a normal human being!"
Not to mention the relentless Gryffindor bashing...
UGH! She's such a jerk!

She's going on about "Why does it have to be so HARD? I should be able to do this right away so that I don't have to waste my tiem actually struggling with the spell and my emotions, like a normal human being!"

I mean, how could a spell that defeats powerful magical creatures and is key to the plot of the entire series be difficult to learn? The cheek of it!

Also, this fic is almost as bad as Deserving when it comes to the writer's irrational fear of the word "said". At least this one uses the characters' names.

Half the time they don't use names in this though...it's gotten better, but Holly used to always be "The smallest Slytherin" or "the black-haired girl".

"Holly's sense of entitlement drives me crazy. Of COURSE she deserves a Firebolt after all the stress she's been through! (Of course, Harry has been through much MORE stress at this point, since he still thinks Sirius is out to kill him...)"

And really, her "stress" comes across more as "Oh woe is me, people are looking out for my safety and it's ANNOYING!"

"And I also hate her whining about the Patronus Charm. She's going on about "Why does it have to be so HARD? I should be able to do this right away so that I don't have to waste my tiem actually struggling with the spell and my emotions, like a normal human being!""

And we hardly see any of the canon reactions to the Dementors! I honestly wouldn't see them causing her problems if the suethor didn't remind us.

Gah, Holly's sense of entitlement is infuriating. Harry was always so humble! He never demanded stuff just because he was special. He's a Sue, why? I am suppose to like Holly, WHY?!

Awesome job on the Gryffindor/McGonagall bashing, you bitch.

And a variation on the great word of Mervin: I hate this fic.

"Harry was always so humble! He never demanded stuff just because he was special"

Exactly it. In fact, he always reminded himself *not* to get stuff he didn't need. That's why it was believable he deserved it!

Oh ho, just wait until later. The Yule Ball alone... *shudders*

This Sue makes me ANGRY with her bitching and whining. She needs a good beating. I want Harry back.

How long until we have that? How many chapters? (So I can prepare myself for it)

Fourteen, so quite awhile. ^^;

That's it. I can't tolerate this character any more. She is just so many kinds of horrible, even Rose Potter is preferable.

Yes, I said it, Rose Potter TRUMPS Holly Potter. Like having secondary syphilis trumps having recurring perianal abscesses.

I'm going to have to agree with you there. Rose Potter was a psychopath, but at least she didn't hide it. Holly is a sociopath and pretends to be a little angel. I think Bella frigging Swan hides it less, even.

So this bitch is still annoyed when people express concern over her safety, thinks Hermione is nosy when she's just looking out for her best interests (for some reason, I can't understand how anybody would want to associate with this girl), freely roots around people's minds and gets pissed off when they try and keep her from doing so, and knows exactly where Peter Pettigrew is and how to get to him and continues to sit on her hands because there is no reason she just isn't that concerned.

Holly really might be a sociopath. Her sheer narcissism and disregard for others (including her 'bonded', when she begins thinking of how it might inconvenience her) is astonishing, and the fact that we're supposed to just... intrinsically sympathize with her? No. I don't see how that's remotely possible.

It really is terrible. I swear, Bella Swan shows more concern over people (or at least PRETENDS to).

Grah! Bitch! No thirteen-year-old makes McGonagall stammer like an idiot!
Also, why was McGonagall even there? Aside from the obvious Gryffindor-bashing, of course. Holly's safety isn't one of McGonagall's prioritized responsibilities, it's Snape's job first as the Head of the Slytherin House. Even if Hermione told McGonagall, I'm pretty sure Snape would be the one to deal with the broom and whether or not it was cursed.

... Wait, why would Vernon start throwing things if he was in the same situation as Lupin? ]= I thought he was more the kind of man who yells and intimidates people who are smaller than him with his blue-ish purple RageFace.
Not to mention that I don't know why Petunia would start shrieking randomly in the same situation. That would attract unwanted attention that would make it look like her family was anything other than perfectly normal.

The bitchiness, sociopathic tendencies and entitlement issues aside, Holly is such a boring character. She does nothing just because she really likes it... well, other than ( ... )

I know. That stammering just made me furious. Like I said, the only possible justification I could see would be if she got the "serious" reference (which is just obscure) or was floored by Holly implying that the security measures make her life so tough. And if it's the latter, yeah, McGonagall would be more likely to say "Suck it"

... Oh. Wow. I didn't even catch that reference. I never do. For some reason, my brain can't make the connection that Sirius and serious almost sounds the same. But I don't know why McGonagall would catch it. Doesn't she still think that Sirius is out to kill Holly? Or have I missed something? Why would she go "Oh, well, that's alright, then" when she finds out that Sirius sent it to her?

I have no idea what's up with that. I can only assume that's why the word "seriously" is emphasized. I just...I have no idea what's going on. 8(
