And I would dare to be valiant

[It's gone. The Zora's Sapphire was gone. Princess Ruto had trekked all the way back to the Zora's Domain, to check in on where she'd placed it...and it was gone. How? How could anyone have done this? Why would anyone be cruel enough to...]

...It's not fair! Who did this?! W-why...

[Then, sound of clanking metal reaches her ears.]

[When she hears footsteps coming up beside her, she worries for a moment that the Stalfos has returned, and so she stiffens. But...the gait is different, that is something she can tell even in her injured, lightheaded state. And then she hears the familiar voice, and knows for a fact that this isn't a Stalfos. No, it belongs to something...someone, much more fearsome, and yet there is no need for her to fear him. Speak? What is she supposed to say, she wonders?]

You're here...?

[Her voice is faded; weak. It's only then that it dawns on her slowly that she doesn't exactly know how to address him right now. She's never asked him his name, after all.]

[At least she's not alone, she thinks. The presence of another was comforting, despite the terrible pain.]

[She takes a moment to try and get some air for her stressed lungs, and she'll try to explain the earlier events in as few words as possible.]

Skeleton...monster. [It's taking her longer than it ought to in order to recall.]

Fought it...it hit me. Then...I made it here... [She stiffens, and her breathing seems to quicken momentarily, as the pain attacks her harder, weakens her further.]

[Stalfos... It's then that she decides she really does loathe those creatures--foul, cruel, and skeletal that they are. At the hand to her wound, and the god's offer, she tries to nod. Yet she finds it, somehow, too much effort to do, and thus murmurs out;]

Okay.

[And suddenly, something grave occurs to her. He couldn't do anything about her injury, or all the blood...]

...Am I gonna die?

[It is now, and only now, that she is willing to admit to herself that she's frightened. Death had always seemed like such a far-off thing. Something that wouldn't, couldn't happen to someone as young as her. Never something she had worried about, merely something that she acknowledged, not thought to apply to herself... And now for the reality to strike, the reality that she's mortal and she can die, just like everyone else, is nigh overwhelming.]

...I don't want to die yet... [There's a faint, familiar trace of stubbornness in her voice, but at the same time she can feel tears slowly forming in her eyes. She blinks them away; or at least tries to.]

[She doesn't respond immediately, and only focuses on breathing; something that is getting more and more difficult to do. At first, she does not know whether to accept or decline the offer. But Kakariko Village had more people in it, right? People who might be able to help her... And even if not, it would be better to die there, somewhere warm and the least bit more comforting, than outside on the dirty ground.]

...Yeah. Take me there.

[She bites her lip. Don't cry, don't cry. As hopeless as her situation seems, she refuses to cry.]

[The movements pain her, despite the attempted gentleness, and she winces. The blood continues to flow, and she too knows she has little time left. It's unknown which is more prevalent in her mind right now; the hurting or the fear.]

[Her thoughts have grown blurrier and blurrier, but there is still something she's always been curious about, yet never thought to ask. He'd never mentioned it, so maybe it was something that he could not answer. Though all the same...]

Do...do you have a name?

[The Fierce Deity. She repeats the name softly to herself, as though she wants to commit it to memory. But what would the point be? She realizes. Her life will end soon anyway, after all... There is irony in this situation, which she perhaps would have noticed in a better state of mind. After all, what could be more ironic than for than a fragile princess to seek comfort from a god of war?]

...Oh. I see... [He 'had one once'... She figures, then, that the Fierce Deity moniker is merely a title, not a real name. She frowns, finding it sad. She'd hate not to have a name to call her own.

Even if it didn't matter whether she would hate not having a name, because she was about to die and there was nothing she could do about it, and what are names but pointless when you're dead-

Her ensuing silence is interrupted by a soft cry of pain.]

[She's quiet; thinking. There was a chance that someone, anyone in Kakariko might be able to help her, right?

...No. She finally resigns herself to the fact that, at this rate, she wouldn't make it no matter what. And even if she did, they wouldn't be able to save her. The alternate option seems so much more pleasant, even if they both end in death. She's barely able to gather the will to speak, but she manages to.]

Let's...go to the Field.

Y-yeah. Tell me a story...
