[It's gone. The Zora's Sapphire was gone. Princess Ruto had trekked all the way back to the Zora's Domain, to check in on where she'd placed it...and it was gone. How? How could anyone have done this? Why would anyone be cruel enough to...]
...It's not fair! Who did this?! W-why...
[Then, sound of clanking metal reaches her ears.]
[She rushes out of the secret room, fully aware that there is something crawling within the Domain that most certainly is not supposed to be there. It is only as an afterthought that she grabs her bow and quiver. She's still not too very talented at using it, but she's not about to hesitate in using it now.
Running, she finally reaches the main room of the Domain, and there is a Stalfos Knights standing near the entrance to the Domain. She gasps, suddenly overtaken by a cold fear. ...She'd never even seen anything like it before, despite her adventuring in Hyrule. She seems to grow pale. ...No. How could she fight it? How...]
What...what the heck?
[But...she wasn't a warrior. No matter how much she wanted to be, she was still Ruto. Still just the sheltered Zora Princess only vaguely skilled with an arrow, and frightened out of her wits at seeing such a fearsome enemy.
She frowns, and her grip on the bow tightens. No, she wasn't a warrior. But these monsters were in her Domain, and had probably stolen the Sacred Stone that had belonged to her mother. Was she really just going to let them get away with this? ...No. Petrified as she is, she will not back down.
The Stalfos notice her, and take no hesitation in leaping forward, blades raised high. She squeaks in fear, and very narrowly dodges the slicing blades. She turns quickly, and fires an arrow at the Stalfos. Amazingly, it hits. There's the odd rattling of bones, and it rushes forth again.
Somehow, she dodges it, and fires another arrow; yet it misses. She's shaking; clearly terrified. But the adrenaline gets going.]
H-how dare you?! Stupid ugly sketelon m-monster!
[Another arrow is readied. This time, it hits the beast in the 'ankle', as it leaps forward again. It lands right in front of her, and she shrieks, falling over in utter fright.]
Go away go away go away!
[Another arrow connects with its skull.
[It's then that she realizes she is merely inches away from the drop in the water below. Maybe...just maybe, if she could knock Stalfos into the water...maybe it would die! If the undead could even die, that is. She scrambles backwards, still not standing, as the Stalfos recovers quickly. Yes...she'll have to knock it over the ridge. The arrows were only stunning it, after all.
Perhaps she could kick it over...Or maybe she could--there's no time to think too much longer, the skeletal creature running forward again. But this time, it virtually dives at her. There's no withholding her scream, and she twists out of the way, kicking with all of her might at the Stalfos. As if by some divine luck, the monster's foot slips, and it begins to fall backwards.
As if by some divine cruelty, it hangs onto the edge with one hand, just long enough to slash heavily into the Princess' side. And then it falls into the cold water below.
At first, she's too shocked to do anything. And then the flow of blood begins, and the sharp pain rattles her. She gasps, horrified, and tiny pricks of tears start forming in her eyes. No...that couldn't be...! The Stalfos... It couldn't have...
She weakly drags herself to her knees, hand clutching the large gash in her side. She barely makes it to her feet, but still, it proves that she has much more endurance than many would have guessed. The door to the outside is so, so close.
While she loses blood quickly, and her vision begins to fade, she leaves the Domain. To find help...she had to! She didn't want to die. By force of will, and perhaps the very courage and bravery that would designate her to be a sage, she makes it to the bank of the Zora's River.
She collapses.]
[ooc: Why yes, I'm a positively awful person for doing this. ;___; /feels so guilty, orz. A-anyway... Basically, any character can to try to help her, or whatever, but the plan is that she's gonna die, no matter what. Though, she's still alive at the moment. asdfgldfghjk. H-have fun with that?]
