[Whether Viscen is familiar with this gesture or not--he was once educated on much old Terminian lore, but he was a mere child at the time--peaceful intent is peaceful intent. And he recognizes the warrior from their last meeting. As such, he offers a brief salute in return and calls down a greeting.]

Hail, Warrior!

All's well today. Clear skies and clean fields.

[His voice is wry; rarely is there activity that warrants his investigation.]

It is simply my duty as a soldier. [In Viscen's mind, there is no such thing as 'above and beyond'. There is just his duty to the people.]

'Til sunset, I think. And it will be prudent for me to watch the night tomorrow.

It would be foolish to turn down a more experienced pair of eyes, would it not?

[This is his way of saying that the company would be quite welcome. While fortuitous for scouting territory, the gate position is a lonely one.]

Without the luxury of a guard to command, I have little choice. One man is better than none, after all.

We all know Blue doesn't have that kind of attention span

They seem to be wound up in their own affairs. And who can order about the strong-willed warrior but himself?

Perhaps. But I would be reluctant in any situation to recruit those not accustomed to listening to authority.

[Personally, he finds the selection of warriors in Kakariko lacking, however well they keep the village defended from the inside. Perhaps his standards are too high?]

If such trouble arises, I can only hope that you are right, Warrior.

[He means this sincerely. This mysterious land of Hyrule appears to be relatively peaceful, but Viscen knows that peace never lasts forever.]
