With the great Ganondorf ruling in Castle Town and the exalted Nabooru residing in the Spirit Temple, she, the third-in-command of the Gerudo Thieves, had been in charge of the desert fortress for the past seven years ( Read more... )

He walks through the narrow canyon slowly and steadily, cautiously. He knows it is far from the ideal place to be, but he wants to see if the fortress that haughty young man mentioned exists. Still, he expects an ambush.

After several long minutes, he begins to see worked stone in the distance. So, there is a fortress guarding the desert. It reminds him almost of the canyon he grew up in, though his people would never have built something so massive and heavy. However, he has to admit that what he has seen of this Hyrule indicates a much more rooted people than any in the canyon.

He shakes his head. None of that matters. Where there is any kind of settlement, there is access to water, and he doesn't have enough to chance the desert right now. He glances around to check for a potential attack and then starts to look for water.

It was fortunate for her that she had been patrolling the upper areas of the fortress when the intruder arrived. Otherwise, it was likely she would have run into him entirely by surprise.

As it was, she spotted him from a distance, and concealed herself carefully behind some wooden crates as the trespasser approached.

A single individual, she noted silently.

A man.

Scoffing slightly, the third in command drew her blades and waited. And, when the wanderer began to approach the building she left her hiding spot and jumped off the roof--swooping down from the higher level to him, her scimitars at the ready as she charged him in attack.

this should be interesting XD; fierce_wanderer August 14 2009, 00:58:00 UTC
The lack of people here is vaguely disturbing. All of this space, this worked stone, yet not a single soul.

Did he just hear something?

He turns around -- and immediately dives to the side in an awkward roll to try and get away from the scimitars. He thinks he feels one blade catch his cloak, but he doesn't have time to check. He holds up his empty hands, making sure they're both close to his head.

"Wait! I'm unarmed!"

Despite the wanderer's protests, the third in command refuses to drop her guard or lower her blades. Though she does cease to attack him, she keeps her scimitars raised and at the ready for any sudden movement. Studying him, she approaches and verifies his claim.

"You, a man, come alone and unarmed to the Gerudo Fortress? You are either a fool, or were looking to be captured."

Her eyes study his form and his features--they are certainly not unappealing. With a smirk, she brings a blade up and points the tip of it at his neck... letting it linger there just for a moment before she brings it to his chest.

"Or perhaps it is both, hm?"

She's a good warrior, and she's clearly stealthy when she wants to be. Is she the only one, or are there others hiding as well?

He doesn't flinch at the blade; he's stood up to worse, after all.

"Perhaps it is neither. I am merely a wanderer here to see if the tales of this fortress were true." He looks down at the blade. "I said I was unarmed. I never said I was powerless."

"I had assumed such."

Though her words are confident, a spark of uncertainty flickers through the woman. Was he a wizard, then? She would be hard pressed to defeat him, were that the case. Despite her momentary doubt, none of it shows in her stance, or her expression, or her voice when she speaks:

"We Gerudo have only one use for men such as you. You will come with me."

Nodding towards one of the entrances of the fortress, she prods him with the tip of her blade. Her other scimitar is raised, prepared to strike should the wanderer express refusal.

don't hurt him too much XD fierce_wanderer August 15 2009, 03:07:49 UTC
"Yet you chose to come at me."

He lowers one hand slowly and puts the other to the back of his head, feigning confusion; he slides his fingers around his feather. He doesn't particularly want to, but if this continues the way it seems to be heading, he wants his weapon.

He glances over at where she nods and narrows his eyes slightly. Inside... for what purpose? Does she mean to take him prisoner?

"I care not what use you have for me. I will go nowhere."

"You speak as though you have a choice in the matter."

The Gerudo woman smirks, though the man's refusal to budge has her too wary to risk further chit-chat. Without further adieu she shifts her weight and turns her blade flat side to the wanderer, swinging it swiftly towards the side of his head.

((As I told Cremia-player... XD; Apologies, have been very busy for the last few days. I haven't forgotten about you guys!))

"That is because I do have a choice in this."

He yanks on his feather, pulling it free of his cloak. He shifts and tightens his grip on it as the feather shifts from a feather to a feather-shaped blade in a burst of magic; he raises the blade to block.

[That's all right. Life happens, and I don't mind. :3 Sorry I'm kind of slow, too.]
