Interesting~

Writing my ibsen paper, and was suddenly struck by an interesting thought.

My mind was wandering (agh >_<) and it hit on the Beautiful and Sublime landscapes in American painting. The Sublime only became desirable after man had basically conquered nature; once the threat was gone, these things became sexy, also because they were sort of disappearing as man conquered nature.

So then I thought about the Byronic hero (who is like the human sublime landscape) -- which I totally <3 100% xD And was like, why are there no FEMALE byronic heroines? Eh? eh? I mean, this was a random thought, so i dont know if it's true or not, i'll check later. but the really good girls who are just a teeny bit subversive get them. ~thinking on Jane Eyre~. Well, thats not fair, Jane Eyre actually was rather assertive >_> Certainly more assertive than me >_> (...which is kind of sad! >_<) ...But there was still a certian purity and following the rules-ness, even she realized stuff was kind of unfair (ie the lowood episode).

So my thought is, the dark byronic hero is sexy. Why are dangerous outside of societal norms females in literature not sexy? ~pout~ if anything they tend to be pathetic, bitter and overwhelmingly single. (note; the bitterness tends to be because of the loneliness, not the other way around) or, if not, straight out EVIL, and to be vanquished forthwith. ...is it because women are a threat? Are men already freaked the fuck out by women that the idea of a scary female not controlled by society isnt a joke because she actually *is* scary? hmmm. Hohum~

I need to read more contemporary fiction to see where the modern world has gone with all this >.>;
and if I'm not happy, i'm going to fucking write it myself. -_-; So many things on the agenda that I want to write that are most liekly never going to happen oh wellz xD

And now back to Torvald and his "helpless little lark" ~sigh~

reading, man trouble
