I've been dabbling in Silverlight programming, lately. It's not bad a bad rig. Seems much easier to design and develop with than Java applets, yet it's got the computational power, clean architecture, and programmability that Flash lacks. Time will tell if it appeals to the artsy folks, but in the mean time, have a kaleidoscope!

I have set myself up several ridiculous projects:

• Accelerometer -> Joystick driver for Fujitsu tablets
• Reverse engineer Fujitsu tablet swivel switch, to automatically orient accelerometer for tablet vs. laptop modes 
• VGA virtual device driver for NTVDM to replace Vista WDDM drivers' lack of (full screen) DOS graphics mode support

Microsoft made a number of changes to the ALT+TAB task switcher in Vista, some cool, some not so cool. In the new design, windows are laid out in a large grid, allowing you to see more and navigate in two dimensions, and it lets you select items by clicking on them in addition to tabbing over by keyboard.
