April Showers (in Wisconsin)

It rained today so I didn't walk so much. I can't complain, since the lower temperature and the drizzle is pretty typical April weather, and we're not getting the extreme weather like the heat in the Pacific Northwest or the floods in Texas or the blizzards in Colorado. But I still didn't feel much like taking a long walk. Plus my feet kind of hurt still.

My plants also had to stay inside. Yesterday one of the darn squirrels got one of my basils and ripped it up (I think they like to try to bury peanuts in my pots). It was all limp and looked dead and I thought of just eating it, but instead I replanted it and gave it water and decided it could have one chance before I added it to my dinner tonight. Good thing I did, because it actually perked right back up. I'm kind of shocked.

Yesterday evening I had the plastic door to my growhouse open to get some air on my plants (and keep the humidity reasonable). I have to be careful since Kirjava has been known to rip my plants up and carry them away, or eat entire basil plants in one big bite, and she's even reached under the plastic before to gnaw on some of them. But I forgot to close the growhouse when I went to bed, so Kirjava had unfettered access to it for something like 8 hours. I noticed when I got up this morning and expected the worst... but she appears to have completely left everything alone. So yay! I'll be more careful in the future, though, in case I'm less lucky.
