Snow!
So, my brother's birthday party was a huge success. He is so hard to surprise, he figured out what his gift was (that we all went in on) but he had no idea about the surprise party! The look on his face was priceless. I loved it! : )
Everyone loved the cupcakes, especially the sharks.
Yesterday it snowed and sadly, the last ORTOP tournament was canceled mid way through. I feel so bad for the kids. They worked so hard for all of these months and have been looking forward to competing only to be snowed out. The result: a lottery drawing for some teams to get to go to state. Just sad. Stinking snow. It's very pretty, but other than that, I have no appreciation for it. It is slick, cold and when it comes here, people freak out and cancel everything and get in wrecks like crazy.
Anyway, Christmas is 2 weeks away and I am getting excited. I am more excited that my friend, D-, will be here on Saturday, only 5 days away! If it continues to snow, as the forecast threatens, we may have to ride the MAX out to the airport to pick him up.
I decorated the house a few weeks ago and have really, really been enjoying my tree and decor. I can't tell you how much decorating this house means to me. It was so easy to get our decor down out of the attic and spread out the boxes, unpack and get it up this year because we have SPACE to move!!! Swap space is a highly underrated luxury. I love sitting on the couch, right next to the tree and just being near it, the lights. I'm a sucker for Christmas decor and lights. I love to go light looking too.
