The open house, last Saturday, was a great success. We had so many well wishers that I didn't really get to have a true conversation with any of them, except for the last ones to leave. It was good to have everyone over though. Hubby and I plan to open our home many, many times. That is one of the biggest reasons we wanted a larger place to live for so long. Now that we have it, I find that I have to kick myself mentally out of the "wait until you have a bigger place" mindframe into the "you have the place, now invite people over and plan things". It's funny how you get stuck in a way of thinking.
So, if you didn't get to make it over to the open house, don't worry because we hope to open our home to our friends and family all of the time now! : )
I have cooked for my last week of Alpha. It was bitter sweet. I will really miss the friends I have made. I'm glad for the break though. I will have to do the shopping for the last week (this coming Tuesday) but I will not be there for the cooking as a friend of mine is having surgery that day and I will accompany her to the hospital.
Girl's card night is tomorrow and I am excited. We haven't met for one in quite a while. Life just got really busy there for a bit. It'll be so nice to just hang with the girls (and the occasional guy) and eat our potluck array of comfort food! : )
My brother and sister-in-law's wedding reception is this Saturday and I am actually looking forward to it. The Lord has done some healing in my heart that I cannot even expain. All I know is that there were a few very specific moments that I had with him and was in the Bible and those moments left me very changed. He has faithfully been healing my heart all along and I actually feel good feelings and good wishes for my brother and sister-in-law now. There is a budding relationship there and I am thankful for that. I'm thankful for a lot of things right now. : )
