We survived our first guys poker night and out of town guests, all in one weekend! The in-laws said that they slept comfortably on the guest bed, which was a relief to me b/c they are used mattresses. The guys poker night was a sucess and funny to watch.
Next up is our house warming party on the 8th, which you all are invited to. Now that we've gotten about 90% of everything unpacked, I feel so much more comfortable having people over. It feels like my home more and more all of the time and I really do love living there.
My brother's wedding reception is the weekend after our house warming party. I'm happy to say that much repair has been done on my relationship with him (thank you, Jesus) and I am actually looking forward to going now. I even offered to cut the cake. For those of you who are more informed on this situation, please continue to pray for the relationships btwn my brother and the rest of the family.
I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo excited for Halloween. I LOVE Halloween. It's my 2nd favorite holiday, right after Christmas. I think it has a lot to do with the fun and innocence of the holiday. The creativity of coming up with a costume, the fun of wearing said costume and of trick-or-treating, or in my case, painting kid's faces until I can't bend over any more. It's glorious!!!!
I missed (*sniff, sniff*) the East Portland Community Center Halloween Carnival this year because of previous plans and the in-laws were in town. But I will be at my church's carnival on Friday. It's a western theme this year and I'm going to put on my cowboy boots and jeans and saddle on up to the face painting table....so to speak. : )
