Hey journal.

Jan 14, 2008 19:05

It's been a while.

1. Was 2007 a good year for you?
Not so much the first like 6 months, but towards the end, yeah. Much change for the good.

2. What was your favorite moment of the year?
The moment I first started cooking, and was cutting with my left hand because left-handed Nacho showed me what to do, and in an effort to be as correct as possible, I did it EXACTLY how he did. Then Jeremy saw me struggling and said "...are you left handed?"

3. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
When I starting inexplicably sobbing on the line and got kicked off. I'm lucky I didn't get fired though. Crying will get you fired in most kitchens.

4. What are your plans for 2008?
Massage School, work, exercise, and no more smoking

5. What places did you visit?
Puerto Rico, Virginia.

6. What date in 2007 will remain etched in your memory?
No date.

7. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting a good job, a driver's license, and deciding to go back to school.

8. What was your biggest failure?
Cinemagic.

9. Did you suffer any illness or injury?
I got burned a few times and got stitches on one of my fingers. Nothing serious.

10. What was the best thing you bought?
That black 50's dress.

11. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Sometimes Sean's. And those awful people through whom I met William.

12. Where did most of your money go?
School.

13. What did you get really really really excited about?
Puerto Rico, and seeing my sister and Carl for three kings' day.

14. What songs will always remind you of 2007?
The White Rabbits Album I have.

15. Compared to this time last year are you:
a) Fatter or thinner: Don't know...maybe the same?
b) Happier or sadder? Happier.
c) Richer or poorer? Richer.

16. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Focus on myself, exercise.

17. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Drank, smoked, eaten.

18. How did you spend Christmas?
In Puerto Rico, trying to wrap the insane amount of gifts my mom sent over and pass them out before people left.

19. Which LJ users did you meet for the first time?
None.

20. Did you fall in love in 2007?
No.

21. How many one night stands?
Only one, I think this year. Poor little thing.

22. What was your favorite TV show?
Dirty Jobs/Mythbusters/Man Vs. Wild. I have terrible crushes on pretty much everyone cast in all three shows.

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I actually hated busser Matt last year, and don't hate him now because I'm not bussing anymore and he's gotten way organized and helpful. Although, one of the new bussers is a fucking airhead and I actually do hate working with her.

24. What was/were the best books you read?
Fury and Last Exit to Brookyln

25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Thom Yorke's solo album, and the not dissimilar Lida Husik.

An iPod, and an alarm clock for it. Slippers.

27. What did you want and not get?
Cook Books.

28. What was your favourite film this year?
Eastern Promise.

29. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?
I worked on the line, then went to Kelly's, then stopped at Thom's and bad stuff happened. It was a bad birthday. Hopefully he'll make up for what he did in the future.

30. What one thing would have made your year more satisfying?
I'm pretty satisfied right now...I don't think that the past really matters at this point.

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
Comfortable. Don't wear jeans to work.

32. What kept you sane?
Zoloft for a while until I stopped taking it. Now I'm on my own.

33. Which celebrity did you fancy the most?
Is Mike Rowe a celebrity? How about Bear Grylls?

34. Which political issue stirred you the most?
The whole Obama vs. Clinton thing. It's like some minority war or something. Stupid. And she won New Hampshire, too, that bitch. Fake cry all you want, you'll never be sexy like the 'Bama.

35. Who did you miss?
Mike. Cody. and Sean. He's not a very good friend, come to think of it.

36. Did you treat somebody badly in 2007?
Myself, mostly.

37. Did somebody treat you badly in 2007?
Yeah, like everyone I was friends with or met and became friends with. They like, disappeared. I have a phone number, I give it out, and still I end up seeing people randomly and it's awkward because they're all flakes, and they know I'm not.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned this year?
I need to take time off from people to work on myself.

39. What are your resolutions for 2008?
Quit smoking...working so far. Work out at least 3 days a week. Also working.

40. Did anyone close to you die in 2007?
No, except the kitten I tried to save in PR. We were close for a while. I got sunburn sitting outside trying to feed it milk.

41. What are some song lyrics that some up 2007 for you?

The past is a grotesque animal and in it's eyes you see
How completely wrong you can be
The sun is out it melts the snow that fell yesterday makes you wonder why it
bothered
I fell in love with the first cute girl that I met who could appreciate george
bataille
Standing at a Swedish festival discussing "story of the eye"
It's so embarrassing to need someone like I do you
How can I explain I need you here and not here too
I'm flunking out I'm gone I'm just gone but at least I author my own disaster
Performance breakdown and I don't want to hear it
I'm just not available things could be different but they're not
The mousy girl screams violence violence she gets hysterical
Cause they're both so mean and it's my favorite scene
But the cruelty's so predictable it makes you sad on the stage
Though our love project has so much potential but it's like we weren't made for
this world
Though I wouldn't really want to meet someone who was
Do I have to scream in your face?
I've been dodging lamps and vegetables
Throw it all in my face I don't care
Let's just have some fun
Let's tear this shit apart
Let's tear the fucking house apart
Let's tear our fucking bodies apart let's just have some fun
Somehow you've red rovered the gestapo circling my heart
And nothing can defeat you no death no ugly world
You've lived so brightly you've altered everything
I find myself searching for old selves
While speeding forward through the plate glass of maturing cells
I've played the unraveler the parhelion
But even Apocalypse is fleeting
There's no death no ugly world
Sometimes I wonder if you're mythologizing me like I do you
We want our film to be beautiful not realistic
Perceive me in the radiance of terror dreams
And you can betray me but teach me something wonderful
Crown my head crowd my head with your lilting effects
Project your fears onto me
I need to view them
See there's nothing to them
I promise you there's nothing to them
I'm so touched by your goodness you make me feel so criminal
How do you keep it together? I'm all all unraveled
But you know no matter where we are
We're always touching by underground wires
I've explored you with the detachment of an analyst
But most nights we've raided the same kingdoms
And none of our secrets are physical now
