Maries Wedding

Apr 11, 2007 08:10

Got up this morning to the sound of the cat meowing. I took a shower. By that time Dave was up. We went down town so he could get a shirt and I could get a camera card. Both these things were accomplished. After that we went to go get pizza for the brides maids. We dropped that off at the church and then went home to get ready for the wedding. When we got home, we looked around for the iron. Eventually I found it next to the oven. And we got to ironing our shirts. After that, we put on our ties, and went off to the church. There was a bit of waiting around at first, but then the guests started to pour in. Before I knew it, was walking mom down the isle. Then suddenly it was time to walk Marie down. I was going to walk her down with her on my left arm, and on Dave’s right. On the way in, Dave bumped into a vase full of white-painted and pearled sticks (everyone was doing this at the rehearsal the night before as well). For a second he went back to prop it up, but as Marie and I kept moving down the isle, he had to hustle to catch up. He grabbed Marie’s other arm, and we made it to the front. When asked, I said my one line, “Her mother and we do”, and I sat down. The service went on, and then the couple knelt at the alter. When it was time to stand back up again, Joel tried to push up, but wobbled, and fainted. He fell backwards and just grazed a pew with his head. It almost looked as if he has a seizure…but he came to, and finished the service, although he did look sickly for the remainder of it. It ended, I escorted mother out and the reception started. The food was all laid out, as was wine. I started drinking it right away. Toasts were given and eventually it was over. Marie and Joel left through a gauntlet of bubbles, and off the their hotel. Mrs. Vogel dropped by unexpectedly. Nick was also there. We stuck around for a little while and helped clean. Family was too meet for Dinner at Denny’s. We did that at 6:45. Webbie had a sandwich, dave had an omlet, but he couldn’t finish his pancakes, Tiff wanted a grilled cheese (despite the fact that it wasn’t on the menu it was 6.25) and Natilly had a strawberry Belgian waffle. A plan emerged for a breakfast at a place called Tupelo Junction Café. After that we’ll go to the museum. Anyway, we planned this out, I drove Alex and Sarah home, and then we came home and started to watch James Bond.
