I know it sounds stupid, but I’ve been giving myself intensive singing lessons again. I got down a few Sinatra songs, some Italian love ballads, and a couple Gregorian chants. Refining your voice is a much more absorbing way to spend your daily commute than listening to your local station’s usual play-list. The feeling you get when you’re awed by your own voice is this unique “Damn, is that really me?” sensation. Try it.
(Note: Do this alone. Your fellow commuters probably wouldn’t be to keen on hearing the same line worked through 20 times in a row)
Anyway, if I get fired, I might be able to make a few bucks on the street. Perhaps I could join forces with a bongo player or a flutist.
