I started the day by pouring concrete, did laundry whilst watching Enchanted April (a good ol’ BBC flick), dogsat, scanned some old family photos, and boom. Here I be.
As far as specifics, well, the lock to my mailbox is broken, so I’ll need to do something about that.
Deviant art conversations. Here you'll only find my statments, so you'll need to guess at what the other person said.
Of course it’s evil! Oddly enough, many beautiful things are.
I completely agree. There’s no self pity in his eyes, if anything, disappointment. Disappointment that his prey is still standing in front of him, and he’s too weak to pull himself another yard, let alone make one last lunge. In the story, you’d find that Villian wasn’t necessarily evil, he was just instinct driven. The greatest flaw in his instinctual makeup was that it ran utterly short on the concept of self-preservation. He was a predator to the highest meaning of the word; he would never consider capitulation regardless of the consequences.
Thanks! A scenario where one has no choice but to completely rely on their god, or whatever they’ve put their faith in up to that point, is really intriguing to me. Their faith will either be their salvation, or their beliefs will abandon them; it’s a very final moment. While I was drawing I was trying to get into the nearest priest’s mind and guess what he would be thinking. I can only imagine that he thought that if he prayed with enough sincerity that this crumbling statue might come alive, defend the city and its persons, and send this creature back to the abyss from whence it came!
Well it’s no surprise with the quality of your work. I’m at a very pivotal point in my art career as well. In the next few months I’m launching a small effects/concept design company with a couple talented guys (a 3D guy and a video guy). So, we’ll see how far we get with that. The business model depends on us starting off with a huge amount of momentum (the source of which I cant talk about yet), so in that golden window of time, we’ll need to take on more people quickly and find us some clients! It’ll certainly be a juggling act. Maintaing that momentum will be crucial. You should go to the One Ring Celebraton this Jan. It’s always a lot of fun, and the art contest is great .Last year I cleaned up all the gold that was to had in the professional category. So yeah, show up and give me some competition! Sides, it’d be fun to meet up and talk shop.
