My very first house emergency
I work in video games as most of you know. Which involves lots of late nights on occasion.
So I arrived home at 2-ish tonight...and take the trash out, load the dishwasher, clean the cat boxes. My lovely wife
geminigirl is sleeping already. So I meander my way to bed. Its 3-ish at this point. When I hear this noise...
You know..one of those noises that really isn't supposed to happen unless something is wrong.
The noise of water piddling somewhere.
The noise is coming from...the house air return register? Oh, this may be bad. And sure enough, the AC is dripping down into the box. Fortunately someone who is much more smart than I designed the thing to hold water. Probably in exactly this case.
Open up the AC from the outside. Well, yup..frozen solid. I thought I was being a tad cold.
I unfortunately had to wake my lovely wife up to ask the location of the hair dryer to remedy the situation in short order. But such things were procured relatively quickly and after spending most of an hour melting ice...we're back to all green on the board again.
I've survived my first house emergency, and fortunately it was a small one. At least it didn't happen *post* baby.
Now...to get some sleep before the morrow.
