Home unexpectedly early on a Friday
Work at New Job has dried up due to the lack of success of their main project. They may still want me to do bits here and there, but October to January is the quietest time of the year in my field, so there probably won't be much for a while.
So, more free time and about 80% less income until I figure something else out!
I'm going to take a week or two to take stock before I try to find anything else. I went to the library on the way home and also bought paint to redo the outside doors I made such a mess of earlier in the year. Aside from that, I'm going to finish watching Angel (I'm up to S5), exercise the spring fat off the horse, get in better shape again myself, do some serious reading on equine nutrition, figure out what new fencing I need to make my property more sustainable with lower rainfall, get a few of the alpacas bred, and keep patrolling for weeds before they seed. I wish I'd enrolled in a CPA professional development course I thought about doing this semester, since now would be the perfect time to study, but it's too late and that will have to wait for next year.
My experience of having too much free time is that I rapidly fall into a non-productive slump at home, but we'll see!
