That's some ninja packing you've got there!

Oh, and before I forget: Re the wireless keyboard: Bastard.

Ah yes, cycling in Hobart. City of many hills. As you should know as a cyclist - the wind is *always* in your face. I've ridden as far as the airport (ish) a few times, and it's an uninspiring slog.

There's been a plan to build a big wide cycling lane beside/underneath that fecking bridge for more than a decade - I remember seeing plans in about the mid 90s, when the cycle path from Hobart leading north along the river first started being built. I never liked the width of the existing walk/cycle path: Getting any speed up on the downhill side was an exercise in arse-puckered very careful steering.

It is, of course, Mt Wellington's *job* to look ominous. Particularly with snow down what seems like halfway. Some very nice riding on it though, for leg training. I had a loop I did from home that I got down to no resting on the way up, and that was when I officially declared myself Fit.

Watch out on Tassie roads for drivers with little sense of width: I always hated having to ride where there wasn't a verge.

Best of luck!

Before you abuse me too much over the wireless keyboard, you should know it appears to be seriously flawed (or I am): I haven't been able to work out how to import notes from the phone (just using the default "notes" application) to a PC... foolishly, I'd assumed it would just be a text file somewhere. So everything I've put in has had to be retyped, hence me not updating despite having done journal entries pretty much every day since leaving Brisbane. Any suggestions? :D

And yeah, I noticed that about the winds... although it seemed especially bad that day. But then, with the trip to Coles Bay I had 90km of headwinds that werer just as bad before turning south, so I'm no longer whinging so much about the trip in from the airportr anymore ;)

You can get text-file notes using a decent text file editor, not the pissy little "Notes" application provided. I recommend DEdit: http://jbak.ru/dedit_en.php. The only really annoying thing is getting used to some of its commands, and making sure that it saves files properly, in the right place. It's not broken, it just doesn't work quite intuitively.

I also recommend YBrowser instead of the default S60 file manager provided, which is annoyingly weak: http://www.drjukka.com/YBrowser.html.

The Lifeblog application that Nokia provides can actually post directly to LiveJournal, which I have done in the past, but you have to select a photo, then choose to send it, before you're allowed to start typing. You can choose to delete the photo and send the post without it, though. I know, I know, WTF.

Your phone and mine are enormously powerful, but sometimes the software seems a little... unfinished.
