I just realized why I used to and still adore Savage Garden's first self-titled album.
Take a look at these videos.
The Moon and BackNote the following:
- Gritty black-and-white quality
- Lots of shadow
- Setting looks to be some kind of underground bunker
- The goggles
- People in suspension and other bondage themes
- The dude following the chick has longer hair than her and is wearing eye makeup
- Chick (presumably) is angsty/mad/sad about something and starts beating at a paper wall
- Heaps of machinery in the background
- Oxygen mask
- The clothing looks like it was made entirely out of plastic, electrical tape and tubing
I Want YouNote the following:
- Gigantic screen flanked by two metal angel statues
- The rough stamped-ink look of the font on said screen
- The hair on the singer
- Strobe lights
- Do I need to mention the enormous amount of machinery?
- Look at the screen at 0:20... it's a SYNTH inside the compositional focus of the screen
- Singer's head in metal vise and the electric beam coming from it.
- Woman in a jump suit
- Dinky, old, static-ridden TV
- Setting appears to be a warehouse
- Screen at 0:57 shows a circuit diagram
- Woman presumably is angry and beating the TV
They're closet rivet-heads!
Does this make me sad?
(For the record, all the girls who liked Savage Garden thought that Darren, the singer was hot. I think he looked like a girl, and when he stopped shaving he just looked dirty. It's all about Daniel, the guitarist. Pfft.)
